Dr. Ps. Marian Tong is a Chinese Christian educator, researcher, and ministry practitioner based in Canada, whose work integrates family ministry, social work perspectives, and community engagement. She has spent over a decade serving in family and intergenerational ministry, with a particular focus on faith transmission among Chinese Christian immigrant families.

After leaving Mainstream Mega Church at 2019, Dr. Tong established and developed Resonate Ministries, an initiative focused on parenting ministries, preteen leadership training, and care and support for children and families affected by childhood cancer. Through this work, she intentionally shifted her focus toward smaller, relational, and community-rooted models of ministry that bridge church, family, and social care.

Returning to serve within Chinese church and community contexts, Dr. Tong has walked alongside parents and children navigating the challenges of bicultural faith formation. Her approach draws from both biblical theology and social work–informed practices, emphasizing relational presence, holistic care, and lived faith in everyday family life.

Her doctoral research explores how Chinese Christian parents—especially parents of preteen daughters—understand and practice spiritual formation at home. Grounded in Scripture, particularly Deuteronomy 6, Dr. Tong is passionate about equipping parents, strengthening families, and helping churches reimagine intergenerational discipleship as a shared responsibility between home, church, and community.

Beyond her academic and ministry work, Dr. Tong has a deep love for creativity and children. She enjoys creating crafts—often designing hands-on activities that foster reflection, connection, and transferable life skills. She loves playing with young children and finds joy in everyday moments, whether watching babies explore the world or unwinding with videos of cats.

Dr. Tong is happily married to her husband, Raymond, and is the proud mother of an amazing teenage daughter, Kayley, whose faith journey and questions continue to inspire and shape her ministry, and commitment to nurturing faith across generations.
